10 year old boy collects cans to help!

“After reading “Take Your Best Shot” by Austin Gutwein, Zac Beine wanted to do something himself to help make a difference in the world. After thinking of various things he could do, Zac decided to collect aluminum cans and cash in the money to support “The Light Project.”

This is just a short exert from a write up in the bulletin at Zac’s church. We would also like to mention that Zac is only 10 years old! It’s things like this that really humble us and show us that God can use anyone, or anything for that matter, to do his work, just as he did countless times in the Bible.

Thanks for all the love, support, and prayers. It really does make the difference. And hopefully we can all learn a little something from Zac Beine, a 10 year old from Wisconsin who God is using in a divine way.

Ben and Bill Kristijanto, founders of Bread of Stone recently visited their homeland, Indonesia to do mission work with Scavengers (people surviving from trash). Little did they know, the tugging at their heart that would happen. As they worked with their hands helping people, the command that God gave to take care of your own, came to light - thus forming "The Light Project."

"The Light Project was something we started to reach out to the unfortunate community in Indonesia," said Ben Kristijanto, lead singer. "We are working in partnership with a local church in Surabaya to help spread the love of Christ one community at a time, by helping them with every day necessities such as food, transportation, and to just be there as a family in Christ. Our visit there was nothing short of wonder. They have shown us how Jesus truly is the answer for us all. Even with having no worldly possession, the people there feels as though they have everything."

Going above and beyond in their giving to support the ministry of working with the Scavengers, Bread of Stone believes they are called not only to ask their fans for support, buy the band itself will donate an extra 10% from all of their merchandise sales to help with the ministry.

Bread of Stone is partnering with Christ in Action, a 501c3 organization that will monitor all the donated funds for "The Light Project."
